> Standpipe System

Dry Type
This is a vertical riser extender usually up a stairwell with 2 1/2" fire department valves at each landing. it can be on riser or multiple risers interconnected all supplied by one fire department connection. All dry standpipes are to be galvanized piping.

Wet Type
This is identical to dry type expect piping arrangement is connected to a fire pump or public water supply. The piping need not be galvanized.

Main Points to Establish

* Each standpipe, if wet, must have a separate control valve for isolation of the standpipe. Also standpipes are to have a gauge connection at the top of each standpipe.
